Back from the lab: NKI returns with a new video exploiting Super Turbo

One of the longtime U.S. combo and glitch video makers has returned from hiatus as NKI has released an eight-minute video detailing some of the weird hitboxes and other system pecularities of the game known in North America as Super Street Fighter II: Turbo.

NKI was one of a handful of players that helped resurrect ST in the early 2000s, compiling data from players all over the world and making videos breaking down theories about the different versions of the game.

NKI Volume XII never breaks the game's system, instead using macros, save states and an emulator to capture oddities that might only be found in a single frame of the game's action. As such, NKI has also compiled a transcipt of every situation in the video, explaining to viewers what exactly is happening and how those states were achieved.

Readers can check out the video below, and find all of NKI's previous videos on Preppy's website.

"Chaos Dimension" exhibition video released by Magnetro

After months of anticipation, Magnetro has released his newest video showcasing oddities, combos and unbelievable scenarios found in Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Chaos Dimension is no short combo exhibition, showing off the engine of MvC2 for 46 minutes. Even with that length, the video sometimes includes action that is too fast for inexperienced MvC2 players to follow. As such, Magnetro has included plentiful explanations and notes on what he is showing during each specific song in the video on his website.

Readers can check out the new video after the jump.

Magnetro teases new video with "Chaos Dimension" trailer

Storied Marvel vs. Capcom 2 combo creator Magnetro is putting out a new video in November 2017.

Named "Chaos Dimension," the video will continue to exploit the MvC2 engine and create unbelievable scenarios like those found in Magnetro's other works.

Commenting on the trailer for his new work on YouTube, Magnetro said he had walked away from fighting games altogether after "Variable Atmosphere 2" but that talking to Japanese combo maker Izumojin and learning to use a PlayStation 2 emulator changed things.

"When I saw how easy [using the emulator] made the content-creation process, I decided to pursue the ideas I had back in 2010," he said.

For now, viewers will have to wonder what Magnetro has in store, as "Chaos Dimension" releases on Nov. 6, 2017. Readers can check out the trailer after the jump.

Combo maker TZW returns with wall dive glitch compilation

One of the legends of combo videos has returned with new setups based in a classic game.

TZW is considered to be one of the first high-profile combo video creators in fighting games, using versions of Street Fighter 2—normally the Japanese version of Super Turbo, Super Street Fighter 2X—and Street Fighter Zero.

According to Sonic Hurricane, TZW "set the standard for excellence in combo video production, at a time when most people hadn't even thought to find the boundaries he was pushing."

In the new video, TZW uses a screen scroll glitch that allows characters to fly across the screen during a wall dive to create unique combo opportunities. The three minutes of footage apparently consists of combos TZW first recorded in 2007, but never shared until this point. Check out the video after the jump.

UMVC3: Desk's Crossover Counter Combos Feat. Viewtiful Joe

Desk has uploaded an Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 combo video showcasing the use of Crossover Counters during combos. The combos are based around the use of Viewtiful Joe's bomb assist. By making your own character block Viewtiful Joe's assist, it is possible to continue a combo with a Crossover Counter.

He starts it off by demonstrating a combo possible with the team of Frank West, Chun-li and Viewtiful Joe, before moving onto other characters like Sentinel, Wolverine, C.Viper and Spencer.

Pistolero: A Chris Redfield Combo Video

This seven minute combo video for UMvC3 shows off a ton of super-damaging and unorthodox Chris technology. After going over some BnBs, Darchon25 gets really creative, showing off ways to use Chris' prone state, grenade loops, and a myriad of assists to extend combos. This is a must-watch for any Chris player, and is simply entertaining as hell for anyone mildly interested in Marvel. Hit the jump for the video!

3S: Desk Vs Himself In Ambidextrous Exhibit

Desk might not be an active competitive player but like always, he still has time to do some cool stuff in fighting games. Instead of the usual combo videos we see from this English combo master, he is having fun with a video on 3rd Strike where he plays himself with both hands on both arcade sticks. It shows off cool parrying skills and various situational counters.

Desk also had interest in trying this concept for other games but mentions how pointless it is without the parrying-like option. He has to take a look at the Just Defense system in Garou: Mark of the Wolves and Capcom vs. SNK 2 (which has parrying too)!
