Neo Amusement Space A-CHO's annual Capcom Histrical-vsgame Olympic returned to celebrate old and new fighting games from Capcom.

Kyoto, Japan's popular game center recorded their multi-game tournament series on Jan. 12 featuring creations such as Street Fighter EX2 Plus, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Project Justice, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure & Cyberbots. While there is high-level footage of most of the aforementioned games, Cyberbots is the least common of the bunch so footage of that will be new to most fighting game players.

Capcom Details Pro Tour 2015, $500,000 in Prizes

Capcom has released details for this year's Pro Tour, and both the event and the prizes have gotten bigger.

The number of premier events for the year has increased to 16, with three regions—North America, Europe and Asia—all receiving four tournaments while four more Wild Card spots will try to round out global presence. In addition, the number of players at Capcom Cup will be increasing to 32 players for 2015, with the top 15 competitors on the point leaderboard invited as well as the winners of the premier events.

Most significantly, however, is the increase in the prize pool for the Capcom Pro Tour 2015. Half a million dollars will be at stake throughout the year, with $50,000 added to Evolution 2015 and $250,000 added to Capcom Cup.

Street Fighter V Coming to PlayStation 4, PC

A trailer released (and then subsequently pulled) this morning has announced the coming of the fifth entry in Capcom's Street Fighter franchise. The video, which shows many of the different games in the series along with scenes drawn from the fighting game community and fans of all kinds, takes about the passion and the drive it takes to move forward and push beyond imposed limits. The tagline "Rise Up" is displayed prominently.

The biggest news, however, from the trailer is that the game will be available "exclusively on PS4 and PC." And while the word exclusive has come to have different meanings—sometimes exclusivity is just a window of time—it will be interesting to see what Capcom has to say about this news when the company officially reveals the title in the upcoming days. NuckleDu Joins Team Curse

Professional gaming team Curse has announced its entry into the world of Street Fighter with the signing of Du "NuckleDu" Dang. NuckleDu has become a noted Guile player in the United States, and has recently added Decapre to his arsenal. According to Curse's website,

"NuckleDu has been on the rise, with his first big showing at NEC 13 and CEO Prologue earlier this year. He has also shown his prowess in Street Fighter x Tekken tournaments, with 4 major wins. In Ultra Street Fighter IV, NuckleDu has been rising up as one of the top 25 players in the world."

His first showing as part of Team Curse will be at Capcom Cup on Dec. 13 in San Francisco.

Combofiend Details New Ultra Street Fighter IV Patch

Capcom has revealed the details of its new patch to USFIV, numbered 1.04. On his Capcom blog, Combofiend writes that Edition Select will now be added to unranked online play, and that the omega versions of each character will be selectable in that mode. Omega characters will only be usable in Edition Select, as there is no omega mode in the game.

Combo adds that the trials for characters will be updated to reflect changes in Ultra, and that new trials for Yun, Yang, Oni, Evil Ryu, Hugo, Elena, Decapre, Poison and Rolento will be added to the game.

Patch 1.04 will also include new balance changes to make all characters viable—Combofiend singles out DeeJay especially—and fixes to the recently discovered Vega and Yun bugs.

Lastly, the download will contain the compatibility files for the new wild costumes, which will be available for purchase. Combofiend, however, did not give a date for the patch at this time, saying only that it would release "shortly after Capcom Cup."

Japan's Nishikin & His Blanka Featured in World Warriors of Capcom Cup

The dedicated Blanka player in Japan gets analyzed before his arrival at Capcom Cup.

Hiroshi Nishikido, also known by his name Nishikin, is the latest subject for World Warriors of Capcom Cup. Known in offline and online circles, Nishikin created bigger buzz after qualifying from the singles portion of Taito Arcade National tournament series. He was able to go through Japan's best including EVO 2014 second place finisher Bonchan in grand finals through winners bracket.

Xian Covered by UltraChen TV for World Warriors of Capcom Cup

Here is a retrospective and analysis of one of Singapore's best players who qualified for Capcom Cup, provided by UltraChen TV.

Ho Kun Xian was able to qualify through earning enough points, in which he is third place in the overall ranking board. The commentating duo talked about his past performances from both 2013 and 2014 as well as analyzing his match between Poongko in the Capcom Pro Tour Asia Korea qualifier.

UltraChen TV Talks About Bonchan in World Warriors of Capcom Cup

Bonchan has been having a great year and he will be playing in the upcoming Capcom Cup.

Masato "Bonchan" Takahashi is one of the four Japanese players who qualified for Capcom Cup 2014. Ultra David and JChensor, as part of the World Warriors of Capcom Cup series, talked about Bonchan's competitive history throughout 2014 including his second place finish at this year's Evolution tournament.

Much like how they analyzed Infiltration's tournament set against Evil Geniuses' Momochi, UltraChen looked at Bonchan's top eight EVO match against Razer's Fuudo.

Capcom Cup 2014 Finals Coming To San Francisco's The Warfield Theatre

This year's Capcom Cup finals will be at the heart of the Bay Area on Dec. 13!

Moving from its original location in Burlingame, Calif., the 2014 edition of Capcom Cup will be held in San Francisco's The Warfield. Known for featuring various artists and bands including Slayer, Grateful Dead and more, The Warfield will host the top Ultra Street Fighter IV players to see who can be the champion.

In addition to the main tournament, there will be other content available at Capcom Cup finals including an announcement from Capcom's Yoshinori Ono, a performance from Los Angeles-based rock band The Megas and more.

While The Warfield can host up to 2,300 people, those who want to get the best viewing experience can register for VIP passes. Not only you get a premium seat, you will also get a special bag of goodies and access to the Capcom Cup afterparty at The Folsom Street Foundry.

Footage from Capcom Pro Tour's Ranking Tournament At EGX London

Take a look at what was in store during one of the latest Capcom Pro Tour tournaments in Europe.

This ranking tournament took place at EGX London, formerly known as Eurogamer Expo. From Sept. 25-28, players from all around England competed for ranking points in the Capcom Pro Tour in hopes of getting to the Capcom Cup finals later this year. English fighting game channel Unequalled Media was there to cover the tournament.

More Information Behind All Qualifying Events In Capcom Pro Tour Asia 2014

China, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore earned qualifying spots for the Asian segment of the Capcom Pro Tour. Lets take a look at where players need to go to compete.

The first of the qualifiers, on Aug. 9, will take place in Shanghai, China's Layer 7. South Korea, the second qualifier on Aug. 23, will take place in DartStream/ArcadeStream in Seoul. The penultimate qualifier in Taiwan, scheduled for Sept. 6, will be at Taipei's 8FloorSpace. On Oct. 4, Tough Cookie in Singapore will be holding their own qualifier before the finals on Oct. 25-26 also in Singapore.

Tough Cookie TV will be at South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore to help stream the qualifiers. The qualifier pages above also feature a link to the venue, rules and registration. You can find a quick breakdown of the qualifiers after the jump!

Capcom Releasing Balance Change Videos for USF4

With Ultra Street Fighter IV just on the horizon, Capcom Fighters is putting out a series of videos regarding the differences in each character. Although the videos do not show off all the changes that will be implemented in the new iteration, it does show the highlighted changes in action, giving players a visual representation of how some of the changes will affect their characters.

Currently there are videos for only a handful of the cast, but it seems more videos like these will be released as the console release date of the game, which was recently revealed as June 3, gets closer.

Also revealed at the end of the videos is a new frame data app made by BradyGames. The app will be downloadable on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store alongside the console release of Ultra Street Fighter 4.

Capcom Releases Statement on Bracket Floating, Punishes ECT

Capcom has decided to punish East Coast Throwdown for the bracket manipulation that happened at the tournament on May 10-11, 2014. In a statement released to onGamers, Capcom's Associate Director of eSports Matt Dahlgren said bracket floating is "not an acceptable practice" and issued the following verdict:

We don’t feel it is appropriate to take away Capcom Pro Tour points from ECT, as that would punish the players themselves, who had no control over the situation. However, we will be removing ECT from our Ranking Event list for next year’s Capcom Pro Tour, and moving forward, any event that is found to have fixed brackets will immediately and irrevocably have its points removed.

ECT's John Gallagher issued a response, apologizing for the appearance of bias and stating that in the future ECT will have a more clear policy on how "bracket pathing will work."

Capcom & Virgin Gaming Announcing Street Fighter Online Series, Chances To Attend Capcom Cup 2014

The Capcom Cup expands to allow online players to get in on the action and attend the finals event later this year.

Competitive gaming service Virgin Gaming, with help from Capcom, will be providing players an opportunity to play Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Ver. 2012, and later Ultra Street Fighter IV, online for a chance to qualify for Capcom Cup.

Players from North America, South America and Europe can qualify for online tournaments where they can obtain Capcom Pro Tour points needed to compete in the finals later this year. More information about the points from online tournaments will be announced as soon as possible.

For those who missed Street Fighter X Tekken at Capcom Cup can now watch all of the matches in full!

This tournament brought four SFXT tournament players with four others who qualified from the online tournament. Players including Infiltration, Justin Wong, Sethlolol and Tampa Bison fight it out to see who is best!

Mad Catz and Capcom Team Up For Philippine Relief

Mad Catz's own Mark "MarkMan" Julio has revealed plans to raise money for the Philippines in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. The storm, considered one of the strongest in recorded history, cost thousands their lives and caused billions in damage.

To raise the money, Mad Catz has teamed with Capcom to offer 12 of the limited edition Capcom Cup Arcade Fightstick Tournament Edition 2s as eBay auctions. The stick, of which only 24 were produced, will only be available to top placers in Capcom Cup and the winners of these auctions.

Auctions for the sticks will begin at 12:01 a.m. PST on Saturday, Dec. 14, with four sticks added each day until all have been listed. The listings will each last roughly a week. Julio has stated that all of the auctions are open to international bidding, and that a portion of the proceeds will go to the Philippine Red Cross. Taken at NorthEast Championship XIV, Combofiend talks about his position at Capcom and how it reflects his involvement in Ultra Street Fighter IV's development. Combofiend also talks more about the upcoming Capcom Cup and what players he wants to see for all three games. Since working at Capcom, Combofiend talks about what he misses from competing.

Capcom Cup: First Round Of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Ver. 2012 Available

All of the initial matches for Capcom Cup's last game has been revealed!

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Ver. 2012 in Capcom Cup on Dec. 14 will bring eight players who won in the many worldwide qualifiers. Japan's Sako will take on Chris G from New York, EVO 2013 champion Xian will face fifth place finisher Haitani, Fuudo of Team Razer will fight France's Alioune and EVO 2013 second place finalist Tokido will go against Singapore player Gackt.
